RADE: THE DISPATCH

Step into the final hours of York, Upper Canada, during the War of 1812. RADE: THE DISPATCH — The Burning of York is an immersive historical urban experience that blends cinematic storytelling, real-world exploration, military dispatch missions, and live environmental puzzles across the Toronto waterfront and historic Fort York district. Players assume the role of a British military courier during the American assault on York in April 1813. Through recovered diary pages, coded orders, hidden messages, and battlefield reports, participants experience the collapse of the city one dispatch at a time. The route leads players through real historical locations across Toronto, including the waterfront, Fort Rouillé, Scadding Cabin, Fort York, Garrison Common, and the memorial grounds honoring those lost during the battle. Each location reveals another fragment of the courier’s final journal and another stage in the fall of York. Type of the GAME: Walking distance (within 1.5 miles), any transport is allowed.
